about
The first song we ever wrote together as a band. The title refers to a line in a the fantastic NIGHT FILM by Marisha Pessl which I thought was exceptionally haunting because it left so much to the imagination. Originally the intro to this song was significantly longer and was repeated at the end of the song. The first demo version of this song is close to 15 minutes long.
lyrics
I can still feel it here
acrid and unmovable
its eyes never blinking
I cannot look away
worse I hear it singing
ancient yet understood.
The wards are holding
they are not permanent
oh its WORDS are seeping
bleeding straight through the wall
come preserve me father
do not forsake me now
light so quickly fading
where is the blessed dawn.
hope I have abandoned
nothing can save me now
its WORDS compel me
forcing my writers hand
know she was not crazy
that lonely jackson girl
she like me could see it
her WORDS were not here own.
