Deathless for me was probably the most fun to write and record. Another product of our early jam sessions, our original singer HATED this one and would go out of his way to avoid practicing it. However Jack, Evan and I loved it immediately, dancing around our rehearsal space like and jumping off the walls. The addition of a second guitar player a few weeks later confirmed our suspicions and the song has changed very little since. A band favorite we will often stay late just to play this one a few more times at rehearsal.
these instruments of vertigo
I strum alone by myself but not myself.
It snares me
a thrall enthralled
compelled to act at its behest
the sounds so wrong
to educated ears of man.
All by myself I’m not alone
in this my sanctuary home
I fear this time I’ve gone to far.
It reads my thoughts it reads my mind
there is no safe place I can find
opened the door I didn’t know.
Oh whats the use I’m giving in
seduced by darkness I have been
if there is hope its not for me.
Older than death stranger than time
I twist the weak and fragile mind
you hear my WORDS but not my voice.
