This song was actually the last song written for the album and actually after we debuted the other tracks live. We had just added Zach to the lineup and after learning the other pieces and laying out the story line for the record we all realized we lacked a centerpiece. The story and the musical progression needed a sense of gravity. This track is the result of a single all day jam session and really represents us coming together as a band and gelling for the first time. Having found both a musical and narrative centerpiece for our work we decided that same day that it would be the title track.
